My first post

My very first blog ever!

I kept diaries as a child (and subsequently left them out to be discovered and read by horrified parents) but this is something completely new. I have the chance to document and reflect upon my upcoming experiences with Grade 7 and 8 rotary music students. I am nervous and excited. I busy myself with excruciatingly complex lesson plans and intricate power point designs. There is so much preparation!

I can't wait to develop a rapport with my students. Even after 5 STEP days, there are so many students who's names I don't know and backgrounds that elude me. I need the opportunity to engage these adolescents and create relationships with them.

I will record my thoughts and experiences as I survive my first practicum experience. I hope you, my readers, will find my reflections interesting and helpful.
